Title: An Investigation of Using the Visual and Performing Arts as a Means to Teach Arithmetic and Geometric Patterns

Abstract: The study sought to determine if the integration of the visual and performing arts in a mathematics classroom would increase the understanding of arithmetic and geometric patterns. The results suggested that both methods ofinstruction had similar effects on the understanding of mathematical patterns, but that the group who was instructed using art integration made more mathematical connections within the study tasks.


Title: An Investigation of Teacher Change within an Intensvie Art and Technology Integration Project

Abstract: The study examined teacher change using surveys, videotapes of teaching episodes, and classroom observations. The results suggested that the professional development facilitated by the project did encourage teachers to initate personal changes related to constructivist activities, interdisciplinary teaching, and art and technology integration.
