Space Shuttle Simulation Lab |
|
In the Maverick Space Shuttle Simulator, CASDE is used by mission specialists at their stations to analyze and observe satellite images of landforms and historical landmarks. |
Examples:
The Nebraska Historical specialist views
historical landmarks in Nebraska. She zooms in from low to
high resolution images to collect data on these
landmarks. The Earth Observation specialist takes satellite
images of selected targets of Earth on the shuttle's path.
She compares the current images to past images to observe
changes in the landforms. The Mars Observation specialist takes satellite
images of Martian terrain. He observes the topography of the
landforms to find the best area for future landings and
colonization.
