Now that you have been introduced to some elements of 'Remote
Sensing', it's time to exercise and improve on those skills.
Previously, we have looked at and identified familiar structures from
a remote location using normal visible light. In this senerio we will
use NASA Landsat Color Infrared imagery and the USGS Earthshots
website to examine features in an agricultural area. With this
information, we will begin a Problem-Based Learning exercise.
The PBL Scenario: You are a farmer who has land that just does
not produce as well as you would like. You are considering drilling a
well and installing a center-pivot irrigation system. Examine the
following images and visit the web sites below. Then answer the
questions on the assignments page.
