This is an 'unrolled' panorama at the test plot series location on the ARDC farm. QTVR movies allow the viewer to become oriented at the site and establish ground truths. The viewer can establish relative positions for the objects in the movie and make observations at the site. In the future, an ag-cam will be mounted on the water tower and data will be collected from the plots for further evaluations.
A qtvr of the site If you have access to a digital camera and Apple's QuickTime Authoring Studio, you may make yur own 'qtvr's'. You may refer to a brief tutorial .
To make a qtvr: Shoot your own digital stills or select some available stills. Some possibilities: qtvr stills from the UNO campus; qtvr stills from ARDC. Both sets are JPEG files at 22.5 degree increments. The UNO campus stills will stitch nicely, the ones from the Farm will require some additional adjustments. If you would like practice stitching stills which were shot in an unlevel plane, choose the farm set. You will need the software from Apple called 'QuickTime VR Authoring Studio'.
