I found the following site to be very helpful. It also includes some links to template pages that you can download:

http://projects.edtech.sandi.net/staffdev/tpss99/mywebquest/myfiles/map.htm

I've begun work on my webquest pages, but don't have them linked together in any type of logical format to be able to post them to the server.

I have begun some initial organization. Web sites have been included along with the Nebraska Standards. Many areas still incomplete.

I'm not sure I've covered all my bases here, so if you see a discrepency in some of my work or an incompletion in an area, please let me know.

xxxxxxx,
I am assuming from your comments that you have uploaded something for us to look at? or is it all still in your head or on your computer? Let us know if you do upload so we can take a look and post an easy link in the announcements of BlackBoard.

I have posted some work on the "America's Farm Student Lessons". Hope this is where I'm supposed to be working on my webquest page! ??? The title of the lesson is From Farm to Table if you want to take a look at it and comment thus far.
Thanks for your help! :)

Hi xxxxxxx
Excellent start! You are getting ahead of the game! Good job!

When you install your 'Student Page', be sure that it is named 'index.htm' and you will be in business.

Congratulations!

A place with Web Quest info is Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators web site. She has a web quest slide show on the how to. (Slow for loading)as well as a list of Ag web sites.

http://school.discovery.com/schrockguide/

I liked the WEB QUEST DESIGN PROCESS that was on the Bernie Dodge site, as it is a guide to the steps I need to go through, in a flow chart.I find it helpful.

A local site with lots of links is the web page from esu7 on webquests:

http://www.esu7.org/~esu7web/resourses/webq.html

Another part of the B. Dodge site is the WebQuest Taxonomy of tasks. It is a written form, ideas I had been thinking of. It's a work in progress, and accepts suggestions. He titles this as 'TASKONOMY", which helps focus on goals for designers, and gives examples in quests.

xxxxxxx,
I think that you have found some good links here. Bernie Dodge is the father of webquests and our stuff relies heavily on his work at San Diego State. I have not looked at the site from ESU 7 but will take a look. As for Kathy Schrock....I have seen some good things from her as well but you are right slide shows can be slow loading.....Thanks for the info

I am using Kathy Schrock's website, also. I've found it very easy to use. Much better than trying to wade through the mountains of information available on the web. The site that was posted by Rhonda is a good one too. Good Luck with your project!

Thank you for sharing the information. Slide shows can be slow. As technology progresses hopefully this will be dealt with and the problem alleviated.

Guess that I am stump at several places. Did get the Bernie Dodge site at NSTA convention at St. Louis with about 15,000 people there. Was a crowd. The web quest workshop was one of the last ones on Sunday. It was a couple of teachers from the Maryland area. One college and one high school teacher that presented it. It was interesting. WIll need to locate the handout and put the sources on the web for all to enjoy. Maybe someone else attended this since I do not know anyone directly. Did anyone else attend this session.

We have the computers now at school but no front page, just clais work, etc. They discourage downloading, etc. on the system. Therefore, I am caught between a couple of sources and waitng for the right moment to get a going again.

Am working on a web site through the school site along with students web pages that will be due in two weeks. This adds the joy of getting going and solving the problems and challenges together. That is what is being called a team challenge.

Am trying to find out when this web stuff is due so that goals can be set more directly.

xxxxxxx,
I am not really sure what you are asking for here or how I can be of help. Do you have a way to create webpages or are you going to have to download claris and are waiting for the right time?

As far as getting things turned in for us....in week 12 there is a peer review that I would like everyone to have a basically completed project so the class can evaluate them. That give you about 2-3 weeks to get mostly done. We are also against the University time frame. I will have to submit grades the end of the first week in May that is 5 weeks away. Hope this helps with the deadlines. Let me know.
xxxxxxxx
