Isn't
it great to have a whole bunch of editors on
hand? And they let you know, don't they?
The Teacher Submission Page is the page that
takes care of the all the administrative stuff
that is required by most districts. Here is
where yoiu enter an overview of the project, for
whom it's intended, the Standards, materials
needed, objectives etc.
This is accessed from different location but the
easiest one is on the Announcement Page (opening
page). The link says "Teacher Lesson Submission
Page".
As for the information you upload (web pages,
images, etc.), these are the meat and potatoes
parts of the lesson.
To get an idea of how this goes together, check
Betty Foster's project.
Go to the 'Teacher Lesson Submission Form'.
Choose 'Search'.
Enter 'Circle' for a title or 'foster' for a
name and hit 'Start Search'.
Click on the title 'Circle Sleuths'.
You are on the 'Teacher Page'.
NOW, scroll down the page until you see 'Student
Pages' on the left side of the page.
Click on the link called 'Student pages'.
You are in the lesson whcih you could find by
going to the Announcement page and clicking on
'Spring 2001 Project Pages'.
The quantity of information is sometimes
overwhelming. The subtle (and not so subtle)
sales pitchs are often annoying.
We (all of us!) have to reach a point where we
can wade through this morass of material and
choose what we want. It's tricky to search the
piles of information and to choose what is
effective and reliable. Hopefully 'The Farm' is
a vehicle to help you through some of the pains
of 'web-searching'. Good Luck!
